On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves.Or lose the ventures before us. But omitted, and the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and miseries. Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Lucas : There is a tide in the affairs of men. Peyton : First of all, you don't know me. Lucas : Why are you a cheerleader? No offense or anything, but you're about the least cheery person I now.
Lucas : Can I ask you a question? Peyton : It's a free country. Haley : So, Luke, what are ravens - I mean, more than one? Lucas : An unkindness. Lucas : I would like to show him sometimes, though, what a mistake he's made. Haley : I think that is why people think you're weird, right there. Lucas : A parliament of owls, an exultation of larks, a murder of crows. Haley : I don't know what the hell you're talking about. Haley : What? Lucas : More than one crow is a murder. Haley : But don't you just want to show him sometimes - oh, damn! Haley : What is up?! I was attacked a flock of crows last week! I'm totally serious! Lucas : by the way, it's a murder. Are you gonna play him? Lucas : I don't know.
But sometimes I feel like you're sitting out your life on account of me, and I don't want that for you. You said you felt bad for the kids who never figured it out, because when they grew up and had kids of their own, there wouldn't be any gifts on Christmas morning. then you said something I'll never forget. Karen : Yeah, and I tried to talk you out of it. That was the year that skill's father told us there was no Santa Claus. Do you remember that? Lucas : My first leather basketball. Those guys are supposed to be my friends. Karen : How'd you feel about that? Lucas : Honestly? I was pissed. They said they didn't want to be my excuse. Do yOu know who left it? Lucas : Coach Durham, probably. Season 1 Pilot Lucas : Mom, you okay? Karen: Yeah.
1.2 The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most.just made it seem like another ridiculous teen drama, when it had been relatively realistic up to that point. I thought it kind of cheapened the whole school shooting narrative and sidelined an open dialogue about severe mental health issues. I was genuinely not expecting that at the end. Highlighting how good of a man Keith is because he is willing to sacrifice himself and save Lucas.ĪND THEN DAN KILLS KEITH?! WHAT THE HELL? The dialogue between him and Keith is also phenomenal when Keith saves Peyton and Lucas and steps in front of the gun to protect them. It really made me feel for him and understand how he got to that point. The entire dialogue between Jimmy and his classmates in the Tutor Room is very well scripted and acted. Also note how Jimmy Edwards is in the first episodes in season 1 and then slowly drops off? Just highlights how easy it is to become invisible in high school and no one notices you until you do something drastic. I've just watched the episode where Jimmy Edwards shoots up One Tree Hill and oh my god it is absolutely insane and twisted.
